Rules

The chess club 'SHAH MATA' tries to achieve the goal mentioned in Article 3 of the Statutes by:

Affiliation with and cooperation with the Royal Dutch Chess Federation and the Rotterdam Chess Federation; conducting household competitions; playing matches with other associations, whether or not in association; promoting participation in competitions organized by the associations referred to under 1; publishing one or more periodicals; making chess propaganda; organizing a youth section; other suitable means.
The association is obliged to comply with all decisions and guidelines issued by the associations referred to in Article 1.

MEMBERSHIP
You can become a member of the association by registering with the secretary. You are then a candidate member.
Each candidate member will be presented to the members. If no objections have been made to the accession of the candidate member within one month after this introduction, then this candidate member will be a member of the association.
If objections are made within the set period, these must be brought to the attention of the members. On the next game night it will be decided by vote whether or not entry is desired.
The board may require written permission from the legal representative of a minor member to join.

With regard to candidate members who have been expelled by other associations, action will be taken in accordance with the provisions laid down by the associations referred to in Article 1.

Each member undertakes to pay the due payment in advance.
The contribution commences in the first calendar month following that in which the prospective member has registered.
The amount of the contribution, as well as the period over which it must be paid, is determined by the General Meeting of Members.
Members who have not yet reached the age of 18 pay a reduced contribution, which amounts to a maximum of two-thirds of the established contribution. The amount of the reduced contribution is determined by the General Meeting of Members.
The contribution of prospective members is equal to that of members.
The board may, if it deems there are special reasons to do so, grant a postponement, reduction or exemption from the payment of contributions.
Double members, ie. members who are also members of another club within the Rotterdam Chess Federation pay a contribution, from which the contribution for the Rotterdam Chess Federation has been deducted.

Members and honorary members have the right to attend the meetings of members and have the right to vote at the General Meeting of Members. They can place proposals on the agenda of the General Meeting of Members and submit motions during the meetings.
Prospective members have the right to attend the meetings of members, but do not have the right to vote. They can put proposals on the agenda of the General Meeting of Members, but are not entitled to submit motions. They can ask questions during the meetings.

A member who is also an honorary member is exempt from payment of dues.

Each member plays as much as possible in the internal competition and is drafted for other competitions as far as possible.
Each member is grouped according to playing strength as much as possible.
Each member must behave in a calm manner during game nights, all other competitions and meetings. He must also play out all games in which he represents the association

Termination of membership must be notified in writing to the secretary.
A contribution is still due for the period as referred to in Article 6, paragraph 3, in which cancellation takes place.
If contributions have been paid for a longer period than referred to in paragraph 2, contributions that have been paid in excess can be refunded.

Members with three or more months of contribution debt can, after prior notice, be expelled by the board. The Board will request ratification of such a cancellation in the manner indicated for this purpose from the relevant Rotterdam Chess Federation. The member can lodge an objection against this with the Board of the Rotterdam Chess Federation.
Members who are guilty of misconduct or acts that could damage the reputation of the association can be suspended by the board for a maximum period of three months. A members' meeting to be held within this period will decide on any expulsion or lifting of the suspension.
During the suspension, the member in question loses his rights, but his obligations towards the association
